Strengthening Kenya's gig and digital economy
Gig workers make up a large part of Kenya's growing and thriving digital economy. There is an urgent need for an appropriate regulatory framework to increase investment support and balance it with workers' rights. We found that a flexible, agile, responsive and future thinking approach to regulation is required to cater for the ongoing transformation of the gig work space as the future of work unfolds.
Ajira, Mastercard Foundation, eMobilis and Africa Practice collaborated to create an innovative policy guide designed to transform the gig economy into a sustainable source of dignified work.
